OurKidsCode is a fun way for parents of primary school aged children to explore creative computing with their kids. Parents and kids work together in this coding workshop where they will learn to craft a dance mat. No previous coding experience is necessary. Please bring a laptop or Chromebook with a USB port.*

Sensory Play Hour with Fingal Additional Needs

This sensory play session for children with additional needs fosters creativity, social interaction, and relaxation. Activities take place in an engaging environment to stimulate the senses while promoting development and fun.

Introduction to Calligraphy with Siobhán Campbell

Join Siobhán Campbell for an introduction to calligraphy. Learn the basics of the ancient Irish script UNCIAL and create cards and bookmarks. All materials will be provided. Participants are invited to bring along any short quote or greeting they might like to use.

Haiku Impromptu with Máighréad Medbh

The haiku is a short poetic form in which we transform careful observation into a crystalline moment. There are only seventeen syllables, so each one is precious. Haiku has been called a way of connectedness. It is also a way of enjoyment, because ordinary things become extraordinary. In this workshop poet Máighréad Medbh will discuss the method and philosophy of haiku, and then you can try your hand at writing your own.

Come and meet Niamh and Owen to celebrate their new picture book, Penguin TV. Inspired by the real-life penguin cam at Dublin Zoo, young readers will laugh along with these prima donna penguins, each with their own character and charm!

Build your own Star Dome

This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in space, electronics, and the fun parts of geometry problem solving. You will learn about basic electronics and the functions and uses of LEDs to create your very own Star Dome lantern.

All you want to know about using your Smartphone in four easy sessions! Sabine will guide you through how to get the best out of your phone. Each session will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A where you can bring any smartphone-related questions. You can attend just one session or all four.
