Join playwright Phillip McMahon and Irish Times journalist Una Mullally in conversation as they discuss Phillip’s play Once Before I Go - which premiered at Dublin’s Gate Theatre and was added to Ireland’s Leaving Certificate curriculum - and reflect on Ireland’s LGBTQ+ rights movement from the 1980s through to today.

As 2025 marks 10 years since Ireland’s marriage referendum granted equal marriage rights to the LGBTQ+ community, this event invites us to remember the fight for equal rights in Ireland and looks at how art and theatre reflects and informs social change.
