Enjoy an informative Broadmeadows Estuary walk with BirdWatch Ireland
Join the BirdWatch Ireland Dublin Fingal branch for a guided walk along Broadmeadows Estuary. The estuary is a popular birdwatching site in Dublin, hosting a wide variety of birds including ducks, waders, and seabirds. It is a haven for waterfowl in autumn, winter, and spring, and you can expect to see Brent Geese, Shelduck, and numerous waders like Redshank and Greenshank. It also attracts divers such as Cormorants and Great Crested Grebes.
Meet at the mute swan roost area on the north shore of the estuary, along Hutchinson's Strand (coordinates: 53.466, -6.199). The event is free, requires no advance registration and is suitable for families- all are welcome, just come along.
The Winter Bird Series is sponsored by Fingal County Council.
