Fingal County Council is delighted to announce that The Stunning will perform at Swords Castle on Thursday, 22 July 2027, bringing one of Ireland’s best-loved live bands to a spectacular outdoor setting in the heart of Swords.

Formed in Galway in 1987 by brothers Steve and Joe Wall, The Stunning will mark 40 years together in 2027. Their distinctive sound and energetic performances have earned them a loyal following, with songs including Brewing Up a Storm, Half Past Two and Romeo’s on Fire becoming enduring favourites with Irish audiences.

Their debut album, Paradise in the Picturehouse, spent five weeks at number one in the Irish charts, followed by another chart-topping album, Once Around the World. Decades later, their music continues to connect with audiences, bringing longtime fans and new listeners together.

The concert will take place within the walls of Swords Castle, offering fans the opportunity to enjoy a summer evening of live music surrounded by more than 800 years of history. Dating from around 1200, the former residence of the Archbishops of Dublin is one of Fingal’s most distinctive heritage landmarks. Its medieval walls and central location provide a memorable backdrop for the Swords Castle Concerts programme.

Rory Scott, Deputy Events Manager with Fingal County Council, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome The Stunning to Swords Castle, particularly as 2027 marks 40 years since the band first formed. Their songs have been part of the soundtrack to so many people’s lives, and hearing them within the castle walls will make this a very special evening.

“Swords Castle brings something unique to a live concert. You’re right in the heart of the town, surrounded by centuries of history, with a fantastic atmosphere when the crowd comes together. We look forward to welcoming fans for a great night of Irish music.”
