Leon Diop: Mixed Up
Leon Diop founded Black and Irish, an organisation working on the behalf of black and mixed-race people in Ireland in 2020. He is the co-author of the award-winning book, Black and Irish: Legends, Trailblazers and Everyday Heroes and one of the hosts of the Black and Irish podcast. Leon will discuss his groundbreaking memoir, Mixed Up: An Irish Boy’s Journey to Belonging, his work with Black and Irish and the work still to do combating racism in Ireland.
Rewind Anthology: Indie Authors Panel
Indie Authors Ireland was founded by Claire O’Connor in 2023 and is now a collective of over 200 independent writers sharing their writing, editing and publishing experiences. In 2025, they collaborated on a project, Rewind: An Anthology, a book of short stories, poetry and prose from almost 50 of their writers. All proceeds went to AsIAm, Ireland’s Autism Charity. Claire, along with two of the authors, will sit on a panel to discuss the organisation, the book and indie writing in Ireland. The panel will be chaired by award-winning poet, playwright and artist Anne McDonald, one of the contributors to the book.
